Kingdom & Cruise Travel Founders Launch Beacon & Burgundy Travel, a New Agency Built on the Belief That the Best Trips Are Planned by People Who’ve Actually Been There

The established Disney travel specialists expand their portfolio with a destination-specialist agency connecting travelers to advisors who know their corners of the world intimately.

Kingdom & Cruise Travel, the respected travel agency known since November 2020 for its deep expertise in all things Disney, today announced the launch of its sister company: Beacon & Burgundy Travel. The new agency brings the same standard of specialist-driven planning to destinations around the world — connecting travelers not just with any advisor, but with one who genuinely knows the journey.

The agency’s name carries a personal story. Co-founders Jennifer and Juliana both spent their early adult years living, separately and unknowingly in parallel, on Beacon Street in Boston — a city that first stirred in each of them a deep love of travel and exploration. Decades later, fate and a shared passion for travel brought them together. It was during a trip to the celebrated Burgundy region of France that the two realized how aligned their goals truly were, and a vision for something extraordinary began to take shape.

“If you want a trip done well, it should be planned by someone who actually knows what they’re talking about.”

— Vision Statement, Beacon & Burgundy Travel

That conviction sits at the heart of everything Beacon & Burgundy Travel does. Rather than offering generalist service across every destination, the agency is built on a model of niched specialists — advisors who have a deep, personal relationship with the places they plan. Whether a traveler is dreaming of the French countryside, a safari in East Africa, the temples of Southeast Asia, or a coastal road trip through Portugal, they will be matched with someone who truly knows that journey.

“Our mission is to connect travelers with destination specialists so that every trip is planned by someone who truly knows the journey.”

— Mission Statement, Beacon & Burgundy Travel

The launch of Beacon & Burgundy Travel marks a natural evolution for a team that has spent years proving what thoughtful, expert-led travel planning can look like. Kingdom & Cruise Travel built its reputation by going deeper — not broader — on Disney destinations, and its loyal clients know the difference that expertise makes. Beacon & Burgundy Travel brings that same philosophy to the wider world.

“Kingdom & Cruise gave us the foundation,” said co-founder Jennifer. “Beacon & Burgundy is where we take everything we’ve learned and apply it to every corner of the globe — with specialists who are as passionate about their destinations as we are about Disney.”

Beacon & Burgundy Travel is now welcoming new clients and accepting inquiries from destination specialists interested in joining the agency’s growing team of advisors.

About Beacon & Burgundy Travel

Beacon & Burgundy Travel is a full-service travel agency connecting travelers with destination specialists for trips around the world. A sister company to Kingdom & Cruise Travel, it was founded by Jennifer and Juliana and is rooted in the belief that exceptional travel requires genuine expertise.

About Kingdom & Cruise Travel

5 Reasons to Book a Disney World Vacation at Least 6 Months in Advance

Kingdom and Cruise Travel

Walt Disney World Resort already opened booking for theme park tickets, hotel room stays and packages through October 2027.  You may not have wrapped your head around your 2026 vacation plans yet.  We get it.  Even Thanksgiving and Christmas 2026 seem far away, but hear us out!  Kingdom and Cruise Disney Travel Advisors will tell you that there are many benefits to booking early. Here are 5 reasons to book a Disney World vacation at least 6 months in advance.

1. The Early Bird Gets the Room

It should come as no surprise that Disney resorts sell out. I have to let clients down on a regular basis when they ask me with short notice for a specific resort and room category.  Some resorts and rooms are popular because of the bang for the buck. For example, Disney’s Art of Animation Little Mermaid Suites won’t stick around long once they are released. They are the least expensive rooms at that immersive value resort that gets you access to the Skyliner!

Disney’s Contemporary Garden Wing rooms come at a great price for a deluxe resort!  You are just minutes on foot OR the monorail to the Magic Kingdom.  Don’t wait to secure your favorite! Don’t know which resort to choose? That’s where you Kingdom and Cruise Travel Advisor comes in. We are familiar with all of them and can match you with a resort for your preferences and budget.

2. $200 Deposits and Flexible Cancellation Policies

That’s all it takes, friends!  We would be “Foolish Mortals” NOT to book a Disney vacation now for next year…just in case!  That $200 deposit may save you money in the long run if you’re booking a room category that offers lots of bang for your buck! If things change, you can modify or cancel up to 30 prior to your check in day. It is comforting to know that your deposit has your favorite room on lock, but if you need to shift things, it is possible with no penalty.

3. Promotions Can Be Applied Later

Don’t wait for discounts to book!  Disney will drop promotions a few months in advance (for example in October for January – April).  Even if you book before discounts are extended, they can be applied retroactively.  When you use a Disney Travel Specialist from Kingdom and Cruise Travel, it is part of our job to apply discounts to an eligible package as soon as the discounts are released.  If you book on your own, Disney will not send you an email reminding you to modify your reservation to save money.  Your Disney Travel Specialist will do that automatically and then inform you of your savings!

4. Disney Planning Takes Time

Perhaps the most important reason to book far in advance is to make sure you are fully prepared to enjoy all the magic and experiences available.  Two months prior to check in day, Disney dining and select magical extras become available for booking. Restaurants like Cinderella’s Royal Table and experiences like Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique sell out in a matter of minutes once the booking window opens.  If you are booking a vacation less than 2 months in advance, availability for your choices might not be available .  Some Disney Travel Specialists set alerts to see when bookings become available.  However, booking early is always the best way to secure your favorite restaurants.

5. You Can Budget for Your Vacation Over Time

One of the best parts about booking early? More time to pay it off comfortably.

Disney World vacation packages only require a $200 deposit to secure your reservation. After that, you can make payments at your own pace leading up to final payment. Many families love spreading payments out over several months instead of paying for everything at once.

Booking early also gives you more time to budget for extras like:

  • Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
  • Dining experiences
  • Lightning Lane Premier Pass
  • Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
  • Special tours and experiences
  • Souvenirs and spending money

Instead of feeling rushed, you can plan intentionally and build the vacation you really want.

3 Reasons to take a Halloween on the High Seas cruise

3 Reasons to Take a Disney Halloween on the High Seas Cruise

Thinking about taking a Disney Cruise? If your family loves Halloween, festive décor, and extra Disney magic, a Halloween on the High Seas sailing is a must.

These special sailings take everything families already love about Disney Cruise Line and add a spooky seasonal twist. Here are 3 reasons you should add one to your travel wish list.

1. The Halloween Fun Starts Immediately

The magic starts the second you step onboard.

The ship’s atrium transforms with pumpkins, glowing lights, festive décor, and Disney Cruise Line’s famous Halloween Tree towering in the center of it all. It feels cozy, festive, and special right away.

It’s also the perfect backdrop for family photos. Even guests who don’t normally go all out for Halloween can’t help getting into the spirit.

2. The Special Events Are So Much Fun

Disney goes all in for these sailings.

One of the highlights onboard was the retelling of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow before the lighting of the Halloween Tree. The storyteller completely drew the crowd in and made the whole experience feel dramatic and immersive.

Then comes Mickey’s Mouse-Querade Party — a giant Halloween dance party on the pool deck with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip & Dale all dressed in costume.

Guests can dress up too, which makes the whole ship feel like one big Disney Halloween celebration.

And yes — there’s trick-or-treating onboard.

3. You Still Get All the Disney Cruise Line Favorites

The Halloween extras make these sailings unique, but you still get everything people already love about Disney Cruise Line.

That means:

  • Broadway-style shows
  • Rotational dining
  • Character meet-and-greets
  • Pirate Night
  • Incredible kids clubs
  • Amazing service
  • Fireworks at sea

Disney Cruise Line is still the only cruise line where you can watch fireworks at sea, which makes these sailings feel even more magical.

Ready to Sail Into Spooky Season?

A Halloween on the High Seas cruise is such a fun way to celebrate the season as a family. These sailings are incredibly popular and tend to book quickly.

Our expert advisors at Kingdom & Cruise Travel would love to help you find the perfect sailing and make planning simple from start to finish.

5 Benefits of Using a Travel Agent: the Kingdom and Cruise Travel Difference

Kingdom and Cruise Travel

In an age where technology places the world at our fingertips, it’s easy to wonder if travel agents are still relevant or beneficial.  With a few clicks you can book flights, hotels, and tours to anywhere in the world. While that may seem convenient, booking travel is more nuanced and complicated than most people realize during their one-click travel shopping.  At Kingdom and Cruise Travel, our travel agents are not just relevant—they are essential for discerning travelers who value expertise, personalized attention, and exceptional service. We are here to share 5 indispensable benefits of using a professional travel agent:

1. Having an Expert who Listens and Guides

Kingdom and Cruise Travel understands that each client is unique and so are their travel wishes.  Every trip starts with a consultation where our goal is to learn as much as we can about your needs, your travel companions and your visions.  We take the time to understand your preferences: type of accommodation, travel style, level of adventure or cultural immersion, and of course, budget.  This level of personalized planning ensures your trip is carefully curated to meet your expectations.  Your input is at the forefront of every bit of research, every recommendation and every proposal.

2. Receiving Individualized Attention That Online Platforms Can’t Match

When you book with Kingdom and Cruise Travel,  you’re not just another reservation number. You’re a valued client. We provide individualized attention that goes beyond what any online platform can provide. Whether it’s securing a reservation at a sought-after restaurant, arranging a private tour, or creating a way to celebrate a special occasion during travel, our agents are committed to providing a level of service that is concierge-level and tailored just for you.  Shopping at a big-box store might be a good idea for buying a barbecue, but not for your investment in travel memories with loved ones.

3. Enjoying Full-Spectrum Service from Start to Finish

Planning a trip is overwhelming and time consuming. Our Kingdom and Cruise Travel Agents offer full-spectrum service, handling everything from the initial planning stages to managing unexpected issues that arise during your trip. This comprehensive approach allows you to relax and enjoy your vacation, knowing that every detail is being expertly managed. Whether it’s distilling complex itineraries, coordinating transfers, or ensuring your travel insurance is in place, our agents are with you every step of the way.

4. Accessing Exclusive Offers and Discounts

One of the biggest misconceptions about travel agents is that they are more expensive than booking online. In reality, working with an agent gives you access to exclusive offers, upgrades, and perks that aren’t available to the general public. At Kingdom and Cruise Travel, our established relationships with hotels, cruise lines, and tour operators allow us to secure the best rates and added value for our clients.

5. Trusting an Expert with Insider Knowledge

At Kingdom and Cruise Travel, professionalism and expertise are at the core of our service. Our agents are committed to upholding the highest standards.  They maintain their specialty certifications, attend webinars by suppliers, attend training events and even visit resorts and cruise ships on a regular basis.  They keep up with destination changes, shifting resort policies and even weather patterns.  Working with a travel agent means you reap the benefits of this expertise.  Your vacation experience will be better because you will have insider knowledge about your destination.

Travel agents are indispensable allies in creating the kind of travel experiences that are memorable, stress-free, and tailored to your desires. At Kingdom and Cruise Travel, we are proud to offer a service that goes beyond booking. We curate journeys that reflect your unique tastes, ensuring that every aspect of your trip is handled with the utmost care and professionalism. In a world where authenticity and quality client care are paramount, the role of a travel agent is more crucial than ever.

So, the next time you’re dreaming of your next adventure, remember the 5 benefits of using a professional travel agent that Kingdom and Cruise Travel offers.   No online platform can match the care you will receive with us.

Disney Cruise vs. Disney World for Kids (Ages 5–10): Which Is Better for Your Family?

Kingdom and Cruise Travel

If you’re a mom planning your next Disney vacation and wondering whether to choose a Disney Cruise or Walt Disney World, you’re not alone.

After years of visiting the parks, my family finally sailed on the Disney Dream, and I went in with one big question:

Is a Disney Cruise actually better than Disney World for kids ages 5–10?

The answer? It depends on what kind of vacation your family needs right now.

Here’s what surprised me most, and what I think every parent should know before deciding.

1. Character Meet-and-Greets Without the Stress

On a Disney Cruise, the magic comes to you.

Character meet-and-greets happen throughout the day and they’re far more manageable than in the parks. We found the best times were:

  • Right after returning from port
  • Late morning on island days

At Castaway Cay, we met Mickey and Goofy in their beach outfits in under 15 minutes total. No rushing. No stacking Lightning Lanes. No pressure.

For families with younger kids, this alone is a huge win.

2. Kids Clubs = Built-In Childcare (At No Extra Cost)

The Oceaneer Club and Lab onboard the Disney Dream are next-level.

Think:

  • Toy Story’s Andy’s Room
  • A Star Wars flight simulator
  • Marvel-themed superhero training

Our son spent about 15 hours there over 4 nights and asked to go back.

If we had paid for that level of childcare at home, it would’ve easily cost $400–$500. On a Disney Cruise, it’s included.

Translation for parents: you get real downtime without the logistical headache of hiring a babysitter.

3. The Perfect Balance of Family Time and Adult Time

This is where cruising truly stands apart from Disney World.

Instead of go-go-go park days, our schedule naturally balanced:

  • Family activities (like the Midship Detective Agency game)
  • Shared meals (with other families whose kids became instant friends)
  • Beach time and pool time
  • Evenings where kids happily went to the kids club

That meant something rare: actual date nights on vacation. Four of them.

4. Adult Spaces That Feel Like a Real Vacation

While the kids are in the kids club, you’re not just waiting around.

You’re enjoying:

  • Quiet, adults-only pool areas
  • Lounges with live music and themed cocktails
  • Spaces that feel calm, not chaotic

We loved unwinding at Pink before heading to Skyline Lounge, where the atmosphere shifts between global cities.

It felt like a vacation within a vacation.

5. Broadway-Quality Entertainment (Without the Hassle)

The shows onboard are seriously impressive.

Inside the Walt Disney Theatre, we watched Beauty and the Beast, and it truly rivaled Broadway productions. No extra tickets. No complicated planning.

Just show up and enjoy.

6. Two Private Islands, Two Unique Experiences

One of the biggest surprises was how different Disney’s private destinations felt:

  • Castaway Cay: Relaxed, classic beach vibes
  • Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point: A celebration of Bahamian culture, with Junkanoo parades, music, and local artisans

At Lookout Cay, we danced in the parade, made our own headdress, and enjoyed incredible food (don’t skip the ribs).

It added depth to the trip in a way I didn’t expect.

Disney Cruise vs. Disney World: Which Should You Choose?

If you’re deciding between the two, here’s a simple breakdown:

Choose a Disney Cruise if you want:
  • A more relaxing, all-inclusive Disney vacation
  • Built-in childcare and flexibility
  • Easier character interactions
  • Time to connect as a family and as a couple
Choose Disney World if you want:
  • Rides, attractions, and park hopping
  • A high-energy, milestone-style trip
  • A first-time Disney experience

Final Thoughts:
Why a Disney Cruise Might Be the Better Fit Right Now

I’ll always love Disney World, but for this season of parenting, the Disney Cruise experience just worked.

It gave us:

  • More connection
  • Less stress
  • And a vacation that actually felt like a break

And honestly? That’s priceless.

✨ Ready to Plan Your Disney Vacation?

If you’re trying to decide between a Disney Cruise and Walt Disney World, I help families like yours figure out the right fit, not just the popular one.

When you work with me, I’ll help you:

  • Compare cruise vs. park options based on your kids’ ages and interests
  • Navigate itineraries, staterooms, and onboard experiences
  • Secure the best available pricing and handle all the details
